Never look at your opponentās roster in case you are facing yourself...
In todayās Fantasy Life Newsletter presented by GameBlazers:

Last week we were lamenting taking JaāMarr Chase over Christian McCaffrey in fantasy drafts after watching the RB1 drop a 50-burger.
A week later, Chase backed up his āIām always f*cking openā proclamation while simultaneously telling McCaffrey to hold his beerā¦
Chase torched the Cardinals while leading the Bengals to a much-needed 34-20 road win.
His full stat line gave him anywhere between 44-52 points, depending on your scoring settings:
- 15 catches
- 192 yards
- 3 TDs
Chaseās absurd day made him the fifth player in NFL history to record 15 receptions and 3 TDs in a single game.
Itās a sight for sore eyes for Chase managers, who watched him put up an underwhelming 284 yards and 0 TDs in his first four weeks of action.
Even more encouraging, it appears Burrow is back to full strength after his calf strain noticeably hampered him out of the gate.
Poor D.J. Moore. At least his monster Week 5 had a couple of days to breathe before Chase surpassed itā¦
Read on for a recap of the other top Week 5 performers and some overreactions from Kendallā¦

šŗ Travis Etienne gives London a show
Etienne has been flirting with a monster game all seasonā¦
In Week 2, he didnāt get enough touches (only 12 carries), in Week 3 he got vultured by Tank Bigsby at the goal line, and last week he was simply inefficient (20-55-0).
But it all came together in London yesterday. He put up a monster line on 30 total touches:
- 136 yards rushing
- 48 yards receiving
- 2 TDs
The only issue? He was facing himself in fantasy. Ouch.
š¬ The Dolphins dynamic duo
Tyreek Hill (8-181-1) is a unicorn.
DeāVon Achane (11-151-1) is a unicorn.
And they are both on the same team. Thatās unfair.
Credit to the Dolphins front office for assembling a roster with the fastest players in the league and letting the chips fall where they may:
I think itās time to set up the Miami Dolphins 100m dashā¦
šµļø JT who?!?
You got to tip your cap to the Colts for not dragging their feet and solidifying their RB room over the weekend.
They were rewarded to the tune of 195 rushing yards and 2 TDs from their lead backā¦
Wait, that wasnāt Jonathan Taylor dominating against one of the leagueās top run defenses. Nope, that was Zack Moss.
We were all apparently too quick to bury Moss. Heās not going to go quietly into the nightā¦
šŖ Breece Hall has arrived
Alrighty then, Robert Saleh wasnāt lying. It was time to unleash Breece Hall:
Sure, Hall took advantage of one of the juiciest matchups available right now, but itās the things beyond the box score that should have you salivating about his rest-of-season value:
- Elite utilization indicates a true backfield takeover
- Elite speed on his 72-year TD run indicates he has zero physical limitations
Weāll never know what the ceiling outcomes would have looked like with Aaron Rodgers still around, but letās not look a gift horse in the mouth. Breece is ready to do damage regardless of the signal caller.
š Dallas Goedert puts some respect on the TE name
The squeaky wheel gets the fantasy points, is what they say (I think).
And thatās exactly what played out in Los Angeles yesterday, with Dallas Goedert pacing not only the Eagles, but the entire TE position with a monster 8-117-1 game vs. the Rams.
I donāt know if this is impressive or depressing, but itās something:
Iād be remiss if I didnāt use this space to mention that the entire Elite TE cohort had a bounce-back week. George Kittle joined Chase with a hat trick, and Kyle Pitts had a 7-87 line on a nearly 30% target share.
That might seem like a run-of-the-mill tally, but when you adjust for Pittsā QB, coach, and general misfortune, it might as well be right up there with Chase as far as Week 5 fantasy accomplishments.
š¤« Fine, Iāll write about Adam Thielen
I drafted one share of Adam Thielen all summer.
I just couldnāt bring myself to draft a 33-year-old veteran on one of the worst teams in football whose production cratered the year previously in a near-perfect situation alongside Justin Jefferson.
Well, he continues to shove it down my throat with massive target shares and an eye-popping points per game average.
Iām done being skeptical that he can keep this up all year. Iām capitulating.
Long live Thielen. What is dead may never die.
šļø Key Week 5 injuries to watch. A rough week on the whole, and very bad news for the Colts.
š Is this rock bottom for the Broncos? They are getting dunked on by the Jets media team.
āļø Recapping everything you need to know from Week 5. 50-point games, injuries, and more!
š¤³ Is the Kelce/Taylor Swift thing a publicity stunt? If so, itās successful.
š A revenge narrative in Primetime? Adjust your DFS showdown lineup accordingly.
š” Jason Kelce was PISSED yesterday. Heād be good at charades.
š The most insane catch from Week 5. Holy cow, Bijan.
š Foster Moreau scores a TD. Comeback story of the year.
šļø Totally normal NFL fans in London. God bless āem.
š¤ A huge sports betting hit. This is wild.
We're humans who play fantasy football, which means we are prone to overreact. Today, Kendall overreacts to a Patriots team that is melting downā¦
We all love the month of October, right? The weather gets cooler, spooky decorations are brought out, and itās the month when itās perfectly okay to have Halloween candy for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Itās also the month of jump-scaresā¦
Now, Iām not one for Haunted Houses or those creepy Halloween Horror Nights, and honestly, kudos to anyone who voluntarily goes places to be scared.
No, no I donāt need to pay for that because some fantasy players on my team are already scaring me enough, all I need to do is open up the Sleeper app.
What follows is a list of NFL teams and fantasy players that are really taking āscary SZNā a little bit too seriously. But can they turn things around in time for the playoffs?
š» The New England Patriots
This team is like watching a horror movie and then needing to sleep with all the lights on for the next five weeks because you just canāt shake the bad memories.
Seriously. If we are having conversations about Desmond Ridder not being the answer in Atlanta, then we have to hold Patriots quarterback Mac Jones to the same standards. Heās not it.
This WHOLE TEAM is not it.
New England has been outscored 72-3 in the last two games, and it looks like they are secretly in the running for USC superstar quarterback Caleb Williams.
Letās recap Jonesā last two weeks, shall we?
The Patriots pulled Jones against the Cowboys in the third quarter after completing 12 of 21 passes for 150 yards with zero touchdowns and two interceptions. Week 5 was absolutely no different. He threw two interceptions and was benched after going 12 of 22 for 110 yards.
I understand the arguments that Jones is struggling with no help around him on offense. Head coach Bill Belichickās decision to let Jakobi Meyers sign with the Raiders in free agency and then believing JuJu Smith-Schuster would be enough to bolster the wide receiver room was a big mistake.
I mean, this has to be one of the worst offenses in the NFL right now.
The reality is that since Tom Brady went to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Patriots have a 26-30 record (including the playoffs).
I know that it feels like Belichick has a lifetime contract after the dynasties he built and the six Super Bowls he brought to Gillette Stadium, but this is the āwhat have you done for me lately leagueā and the seat is warming up.
š» The AFC North
Alright, these teams arenāt necessarily bad, but in the spirit of Halloween, they kind of remind me of that pointing Spiderman meme lol.
ANYWAYS.
This division is really just keeping you guessing ā we think we know who each team is then all of a sudden a different identity comes around.
The Steelers have heard the āfire Matt Canadaā chants since last season and yet the Ravens allowed them to score 14 unanswered second-half points and let Pittsburgh walk away with a 17-10 victory on Sunday.
The Ravensā offensive weapons did not help quarterback Lamar Jackson and this was a game they just should not have lost.
Just when we thought the Bengals could be in some serious trouble, the superhero we knew we needed in JaāMarr Chase came in to save the day with 52.2 fantasy points against the Arizona Cardinals.
Ultimately this is like a merry-go-round that just wonāt stop (and makes you a little dizzy). The AFC North is separated by one game and completely up for grabs.
This should be the Ravensā division to lose (right now), but who knows what will happen with a potentially healthier Joe Burrow and a Browns team that gets Deshaun Watson back in Week 6.
